Disaster Health Services 1 is a Basic
Disaster course that assists Red Cross paid and volunteer staff to organize and administer
the Disaster Health Service function at the chapter level and to show how the function is
initiated on a larger operation.
PREREQUISITE: Introduction to Disaster Services
(ARC 3066)
Training Objectives
- Identify the common effects of a disaster on the health of individuals and the
community.
- Identify and discuss basic policies and administrative regulations that serve as a
framework for Disaster Health Services operations.
- Discuss the components of Disaster Health Services in the chapter disaster response
plan.
- Identify relationships between the Disaster Health Services function and other functions
on a disaster.
- Identify and discuss the responsibilities of Disaster Health Services in various
assignment settings.
- Demonstrate the ability to process the necessary forms and reports.
- Identify resources used to provide disaster health services to the chapter.
