Damage Assessment 1 (ARC 3067-1)


 

Prepares Red Cross paid and volunteer staff to serve as Damage Assessment workers to obtain and report damage assessment information and provide support to other functions on disaster relief operations.
 

 

PREREQUISITE: Introduction to Disaster Service (ARC 3066)


Training Objectives
 

  • Describe the purpose and role of Damage Assessment on Red Cross disaster relief operations.
     
  • Write clear and accurate descriptions of disaster-caused damage to structures and of the affected community's characteristics.
     
  • Evaluate structural damage to dwellings on the basis of external observation.
     
  • Accurately complete Damage Assessment reports in a timely fashion.
