Service to Armed Forces

 

Provide individualized social casework and case management to 64 families, which included emergency communication worldwide, verification of death or illness to support emergency leave request, financial assistance, benefits and government services 7 Volunteer Caseworkers logged 373 hours of service.

 

Blood Services

 

We Collected 5976 units of blood products at 214 blood drives hosted by the Chapter, Businesses, and Community Groups.  We collected 8.92% of our population for the 2009-2010 fiscal year.  472volunteers were recruited to staff the blood drives.  138 Drives were held and 2,577 platelet products at 100.27% of the annual goal were made available for cancer patients.  472 Volunteers logged 2898 hours of service assisting at blood collections.

 

Disaster Services

 

Responded to 20 local disasters and 110 individuals were provided assistance with food, clothing, medication, and deposit of first month’s rent in most cases.  To prepare our Chapter for local disaster response and preparedness, we trained 14,248 individuals from the area.  We hosted 64 Community Disaster Education Events to educate the public on disaster preparedness.  65 Disaster Volunteers logged over 4263.75 hours of service.

 

Health & Safety Services

 

The Health & Safety Program provides education to industry, schools and the community.  A total of 13892 adults and children were taught life-saving skills in Red Cross certified courses in First Aid and CPR, swimming lessons, lifeguard training, water safety, and HIV/Aids prevention.  Three paid staff and 157 authorized providers teach these classes.  Health & Safety Volunteers logged 4,758 hours of service.  19 Volunteers for Adaptive Aquatics program provided a cumulative 6,353 individual sessions and logged 2,009.5 hours of service.  The 7 Grey Ladies logged 418.5 hours of service.
